A young female artist from Dubai, Polina Kniaz-Petukhovsky (b. 1990), specialises in surrealistic and expressive figurative painting and sculpture.
She works under the investigation of overwhelming emotions and the bond between casual subtle anxiety and challenges of the delicate, however, obsessive and intrusive internal world. Polina’s interests in medicine, psychology and microbiology shape her imaginary characters into non-existent bio-symbols, which form the images and complex relationships of how the incomprehensible feelings would look. Shaped by a meditative approach, Polina's works' vivid colours and excessive objects create portals of self-discovery.
As a tribute to her inspiration by powerful, mighty and sensitive women, Polina also explores the energetic structures of forceful female potential, multifaceted women's role in fast-changing and conventional societies and the transformation of femininity perception.
