Surrealistic paintings of hidden emotions and trauma transformations

A young female artist from Dubai, Polina Kniaz-Petukhovsky (b. 1990), specialises in surrealistic figurative painting and sculpture. She focuses on feminist themes and the exploration of complex emotions in a demanding world where the meaning of a woman is constantly questioned. Polina’s art journey involves transforming deep childhood traumas and concealed feelings and searching for identity and belonging. She also investigates the contradictory relationship between the fragile inner world and the aggressive outer environment. Polina aims to touch human multi-layered feelings.

Vivid colours and symbolic detailed forms with hidden meanings transform her works into portals of self-discovery, which provoke intense dialogue with inner struggles.
